When all is Gone.

Well, this is it. The final product of my media group. Nothing is perfect but I think this project went amazing. Now its time for yall to see it.

Film peer review

Image
Hey guys, so the filming and editing is finally over. We fixed the titles and changed the order and now the final product. I'll be having my friend Quinn peer review it as she doesn't live too far. She liked the music and the script but a complaint was the titles.  She didn't understand why they were white and covered half the screen in some parts. I do agree but Brianna edited and said how good it looks and I want everyone to have a voice on the final product. I agree with Quinn they could be changed ad they didn't go with the plan but at this point it's final. Besides that she loved how it went together and the song choice. It showed a story in less than 2 minutes and I do agree. It was a pop song from the '80s. she was surprised by how well the song fits our film. That song has to be my favorite take on the video. I do believe this has shown growth in our films yet it could be better. Quinn thinks I am nitpicking and it looks good overall. But the titles

Re-Editing Blog: Changing order

Hey guys, so I have a bit of a roller coaster to tell you. The school was closed today due to bad weather. In the meantime, it gave us time to work on the final exam. Brianna decides to change the order of the scenes to make it look crisper. I did like the original but we should all have input. Jack thinks both look good and didn't really decide which one we should go with. The pressure set in that this is now pass or fail. This is the final exam and is make or break. The class is over after this so we want to go out with a bang. This project has been a roller coaster but the change is for the better. I'll give it to Brianna this looks like a good choice and as the director, I was wrong about how it should have been. The editor had to take the idea and actually put it into motion which I am so proud of her for doing. I know how to edit but I feel like I wouldn't make the decision she did. But the more and more I watch it looks great only thing off is the titles I ment

Editing Blog: A title discrepency

So now it's time to edit. Brianna is the lead editor and called me with some questions. We reviewed the edit and it all looked good yet something looked off about the titles. I realized they had to be in exact order. Yet when in order they didn't look good. Brianna Jack and I realized we do have to fix it and this sucks. Next class we plan to ask for verification but with rain like this I have doubts about school. I've been losing power on and off so good thing Brianna is editing. I will actually be moving to my grandfather's due to the rain. I can still call and answer questions but between the power and dogs being scared my family made this choice. Yet editing is looking great so far I love the sequence and how the song fits. I found it while watching a film called Spiderhead on Netflix which uses the same song. Our film's intro reminds me just of it and it is where I got the idea from. I always loved older music and it just hit right with me and for us to

Reshoot blog; additional scene

Image
Well, we thought it was done. I was looking at the scenes at school and noticed something was off. We forgot to film one scene with a reverse shot. Jack and I then decide on PSD since we leave school early we will film it fast. I got Jack and right after we went to my house. He brought the exact same outfit and changed into it. We took 2 shots of Jack and the ends of a hallway which we need to edit into a reverse shot. The scene took a total of 10 minutes and it was upsetting. We needed extra time and this fits perfectly with the script as he is hallucinating. But it's my fault as when we were filming I forgot about it. Nothing I can do now but we should be done. We then viewed every scene to make sure we didn't have to film again. Some scenes looked off but Jack didn't have the other outfit he needed so we will make it work. We checked over the song and it all worked out. We informed Brianna as she couldn't come this time either and she said it looks good. Now

Filming blog; capturing the scenes

Image
Well, we finally did it. Jack and I got together Friday and finished. I had to pick up Jack; in the meantime, my parents moved their cars for our outdoor scenes. We started with all outside shots, getting them done so the cars could be returned. I forgot about my dogs getting in the way of filming but luckily my parents could take them on walks so I had silence for the scenes with noise. For the others they could sit in my mom's room as the noise didn't matter we just couldn't have them walking around in shots. First, we began with room shots. Jack got dressed laid down and we set the alarm. It went great on the first try. But for the next one Jack said I'm late as he looked at his phone but with the phone on we couldn't put a title on it. As the director, I chose to improvise and we turned the phone to the right and made sure the screen was black so it could be edited. Next we had our first hallway scene which only took 2 takes as we didn't shut the

A recap

Image
So tomorrow jack and I will film. This headache comes to a close and we get it over with so I am going to make a summary. The song we will use playing over our intro will be the logical song. A canon dslr rebel 3 camera will be used. The song ends perfectly at 2 minutes with a trumpet solo playing which lets us end it and roll in the black screen. The first shot will be an establishing shot of the house, my house which is where we are filming. It will then fade IN to a shot of jack in bed. It will be a high-angle shot of jack waking up and hitting his alarm and he yawns, the studio's name comes on the screen and disappears with our title design. The camera will then pan to show the alarm clock. The digetic sound of the alarm clock will go off. This time A low angle on jack happens and he says I'm late, then pans down to his phone which has the production company on it, The music now fades in. Jack will be seen shutting the bathroom door with the actor's name on it, t
