Genre Decision Thriller

Image
First, we looked at thrillers. I was very intrigued by the elements. As I began thinking I was familiar with them in films I'd seen before. But as I kept thinking back to our pitch I felt that it didn't quite fit. The mis-en-scene is usually dramatic and sometimes gory. There's lots of suspense and anticipation. That's not the mood we want to create with this film. So we decided not to use this genre. Then came Comedy. At first, the elements seem very promising. The camera angles were definitely within our ability. However, when we got to sounds and dialogue we didn't think it would be necessary to make jokes all the time, especially on such a serious matter. I felt it would be too corny for our idea. So we decided not to go through with it.   Lastly, we chose to look at Coming of Age. I thought of this genre because our actors are teenagers. Additionally, the plot of the film had a lot to do with the common theme of Coming of Age movies where characters lose th

My Pitch

Image
Hey guys, we need the key idea to kick off this final task. The two pitches that we had were completely different.  Pitch 1; 2 College students return home for spring break but something feels off when they enter town. After arriving home they realized what had happened. Pitch 2; A hiker goes on a walk to discover a body, but when they call for help a twisted park ranger comes to their aid. It then turns into a race for her own life. The first pitch is interesting as we can make any twist we want. It is a mystery but can evolve into any twist or plot that we want. It gives us ease with the cast and set along with where it takes place. what I learned from the AS level was that you need to be ready for change at a moment's notice. The second one is great too as it gives a mystery aspect with a twist that leads to a shocking ending. It gives us a setting we can use by Jackson living near a forest and a plot that can have a surprise ending. My vision is to have it simple enough t

New level new group

Hey guys, I'm back to give some information. This year I have a whole new group. Sean D. and Jackson H. I've known Jackson since freshmen year and we get along great. Sean on the other hand I know from his girlfriend. Last year I met her and we got along great. Now she is away at college at LSU and I have a class with Sean and have grown to know him. I plan to play to my strengths and film and do the storyboard. Scriptwriting is fun and I feel like it helps I can bring that to the table. Along with filming with my rebel camera, I can bring all that to this short film. Jackson and Sean are actors who can also assist in workloads like planning and scenes.  Now we can all drive which makes filming easier. All our past experiences come together as none of us have worked together yet all passed our aice exam with a C level last year. Sean is a senior so it is extra important for him to get his diploma too. If all goes well this will be the last project I do before I get that swe

We are BACK

Hey guys I'm back for A-level media and I couldn't be more excited. I am Sean I'm 17, a junior at Fort Lauderdale High. I'm from Peru and I love animals and travel.   I have always loved filming and editing and this class just spiked my interest. In this blog, I will show my journey of learning about film and displaying it in projects throughout the year. I am Peruvian and Irish and I love to travel, hence I end up taking photos of everything I see. My favorite place I have visited was Venice. The fact that I know Spanish made communication so much easier so I could fully enjoy the city. And out of the 10 days I spent in Europe in 4 different cities Venice was the best.  My entire life is about animals, currently, I have two dogs, Callie and Brandy. Callie is the oldest at four years old while Brandy is only two. I used to have a dog named Lucky who passed away at the age of six. I have always been fond of Hungarian Vizslas as they are the same breed my father grew
