Hey guys, this is going to be my final blog before filming. Unfortunately, the girls cannot film, and jack will be in the main role. I as well have a DSLR camera which we will use to film. It's a tad more advanced than an iPhone, but the quality will improve. The scenes will be the same along with our storyboard with cutaway shots showing the outside surroundings. An additional shot I am adding will be an establishing shot of the house, which then will cut to jack and the introduction. Between each set of main scenes, the film will cut outside to show a barren neighborhood with non-diegetic sound in the background. The goal this accomplishes will give the viewer a grasp of what's going on without spoiling it for the character. I'm currently looking for a song we can use in part that fits the tone of the film. At the time I found The logical song by Supertramp yet a small issue is the record label that owns the rights to the song has been dissolved. I plan to figure ou

The new plan...for now

Well, here we have it. In class we discussed it and jack and I will film this Sunday at my house. We will have 2 people come in from out of our group to act, Onara and Quinn. The goal is to film at 1pm giving us avid time to film. We have my whole house and neighborhood for outside shots. I plan to finalize the shots next blog and have a set plan for the day. We also must set aside time to take into account to review how it looks. I hope it works out as over spring break I was bitten by a water moccasin. I ended up in the hospital and I'm fine now but I was unable to film and communicate for some time. Im all better now and ready to film but it all worked out and now we have a plan set in motion. Quinn lives nearby so if needed we can call her to film when needed. I know Brianna cant but she has the job of editing over 3 weeks so it will work out. Giving us time to review and for me to browse over the edit. Our final project is underway and should be right on track. Cam

A person swap

Well, it officially hit the fan. This break I was out of town from Friday to Sunday, on Sunday jack left town. Brianna is working every day and in all, we can't film. Brianna has a strict family and I can't drive her home after school. Now time is coming to a close so we made a new idea. From now on Brianna will be replaced as the main character and we will implement someone else. Jack will remain the side character and take place at my house. I will drive the others from school to film and get the ball rolling. If I'm being honest I'm glad this project is coming to a close as it is getting frustrating and difficult. But we can get past it, jack is reliable and I can pick him up after baseball practice and we can film. Or one day he can skip it but we will discuss it on Monday when we go back. By replacing Brianna she will edit. That way everyone has a part in the project. The goal is for us all to get involved and can review one another. It takes time to plan th

When worlds colide

Well, it looks like we are changing the plan. Brianna works all spring break so we have to find another main character. To give Brianna a role she is going to edit and ill make adjustments when needed. But now we have to find someone wanting to worm over spring break. Between Jack's baseball, and Brianna and I having jobs filming is a challenge. We had this problem for every single video with someone not being able to film which is just bad luck. First Brianna had a debate tournament, and the randys car broke down. To avoid this ill be picking up Jack to film so we can start the shoot. I'd be lying if I said this was all not inconvenient but everything happens for a reason. I'll try to incorporate as many shots as we can and I have the idea of a drone bird's eye view shot to show the barren town. The only days I cant film are the 17-19 and the following Friday but otherwise I am set. Brianna who works at a water park is working all but Thursday which she already h

Time is against us.

Well, that's a wrap on the plans. We wished to film this weekend and bet ahead of the game but Brianna and I have work. Next weekend I'm going on my annual church retreat so I’ll be gone from Friday to Sunday. Brianna can't film for the next 3 weekends, but I can begin the shots alone as some are just clips of my neighborhood. Jack doesn't tell us much but I know he has baseball but since he lives closer to me him filming is easier. But for Brianna it’s a full-day commitment that's why her work schedule is so vital. We aren't sure when we'll reschedule. Hopefully soon though because we have deadlines to meet. I am extremely worried about how this will be resolved. However, I know that we can figure this out. We need to find a day when we are all free. I’ll try to begin shooting over spring break and see what I can do as we have to get ahead of the game. The due date is approaching faster than you think as March is already halfway over and exams are on

A slight Interjection

Well, that was fast, its time for the first production blog of this task. We just did our storyboard and Brianna did a great job with it. Yet to add more interjections I had the pitch to add cutaways from the main scene to show the barren neighborhood. We want to show the entire place not just the opening sequence. It's a narrow window of time but at the same time, we need extra film. having too little is an issue but too much can be cut down. Showing a barren area with an item rolling across the screen catches what we need. like the stereotypical tumbleweed to show a deserted town. Its iconic and gets the point across at the same time. Over time our storyboard may change but this was one right off he bat. I am filming so I have subtle ideas I wish to include which we can film and then decide later to include. The goal is I have about a month to edit and decide and jack and Brianna can help when needed. But times will be stressful as AICE exams start in 30 days.  The sc
