Music video research

 Since this is a music video the first thing we need to do is look into how they are made along with some examples. I think it is important to look at what others have created to see what we can do. It is also very helpful when planning our own project. Hopefully one of these videos will give us a good idea. 

The first music video I watched was 3005 by Childish Gambino.

I love the fair theme. The video mainly takes place on a Ferris Wheel with a stuffed bear next to him. He casually sings the song while gazing at the view. The video was very simple yet beautifully made. You can see all the lights and colors from the fairgrounds. This is something I would love to recreate and expand on. 

The second video I watched was See you Again by Tyler the Creator and Kali Uchis

It starts in a bedroom. But not your traditional one, he was on a ship of some kind. The video mainly takes place on this ship. He is portraying a soldier in the Air Force. He's thinking about his lover and when he can see her again. It's very clever. I love how he really went in depth and told a story. Then the song switches up and he becomes a ghost singing a verse of the song. Someone takes off the white blanket and it's a swarm of flies. The cover the camera and it fades to black. This video was extremely creative. I admire how the lyrics matched what was going on in the video. 

Lastly, I watched Garden by Sza.

It starts off in a dark beach. She is laying on the rocks. She gets up slowly and walks into this bright, green forest. It is covered in trees and leaves. She walks into a river and starts singing. She is also in a tree singing. A man is watching her from afar. They are together and share this magical forest experience. They cuddle in a tree together enjoying the scenery. She then sings on the shoreline. It's beginning to get dark so they start a fire. The night goes pitch black. Now we're in the cliffs and montains. They are screaming to each other from opposite sides of the canyon. I love the settings they are beautiful and rich in color. I love the shots used they were very interactive.
